I think I may be having this problem. I have the Epson 8350. I first got a smallish yellow spot towards the top of the screen, now I have a larger spot (8" on a 130" projection) towards the bottom. I just emailed Epson about the issue. The projector is only 4 months old with less than 200 hours on it.

Do you think Epson will replace the whole projector for me? How would I prevent this in the future? I have plenty of ventilation space. It's mounted on the ceiling about 4 feet away from the nearest wall.

Contact your projector manufacturer immediately if you are still covered under warranty as I have not heard of this being a significant issue in newer projector models and certainly not with the Epson 8350.

I am thinking of getting a Panasonic PT AR100U as my old Panasonic has the yellow "burn-in". Does anyone know of the AR100U has inorganic lenses or not?

I just got a panasonic PT-AE8000 projector and noticed a red hue along the entire length of the bottom. I emailed panasonic support and they told me its likely a setup issue or a mis-aligned polarizer. Can't possibly be a setup issue in my opinion.

Anyway, for picture sake I had to turn the color temperature to the lowest setting to exagerate the flaw for the picture. When I turn the color to black/white (color=-32) there is a red hue along the bottom, in the same place as shown in the photo below. Somehow more red is getting through on the lower part of the image.

Panasonic told me to deal with the store to get it fixed. What should I tell the store? Likely a replacement and send the defect back to panasonic? I shouldn't live with this defect, no?

I'd also like to add that when the screen is yellow the bottom band is a darker redder yellow. I also notice it in all shots. The bottom 12 inches or so of the screen is redder than the portion immediately above it.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
T

Talk to the people that sold it to you, let them know that this issue occurred out of the box. There is no reason this should be the way the image looks and it should be dealt with immediately.
