Ive changed my 3805 Denon to the 2807 so I can have the HDMI switching, but I have wasted a complete day trying to get the HDMI to work!!!!
All the equipment is HDCP and Im using my existing Denon 3910 player.
I can get the Component to HDMI to work at 480/576p and thats when the player is set to HDMI /DVI off. So it is only upscaling component to HDMI.
Its when I switch the player to HDMI to play at 720p I cant get a picture at all! In this mode I cant get anything, 480/576p, 720p or 1080i. This is driving me CRAZY! I have tried every possible setting and just cant get it to do the handshake!
If I plug the HDMI directly to the Projector without going through the AMP all works perfectly!
Anyone had similar problems and what can I do to get it to work???
Its really driving me NUTS!!
Hope someone out there has a FIX for me.

Don't know if any of this will help: "The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to handshake properly for the HDCP protocol. This is a consideration when programming remote control system call keys or hot keys where everything turns on at once. You may need to consider the order of equipment turn on when programming these convenience keys." http://usa.denon.com/2082.aspMy first front projector - a Kloss Novabeam 100 (1986). | founding member Joined: Aug 26, 2004 Posts: 16 |

I tried this and it doesnt do anything! I have discovered that I can get the picture to work through the DVI port on the back of the 3910 player using a HDMI/DVI converter plug, BUT:::: If I use the switching on the amp to go to TV and then back to DVI the image is just a snowstorm! What I then have to do to get the image back is to flick the remote on the player through all the different conections HDMI on, HDMI off etc and then back to DVI and the image is back on the screen! What is going on here??? But still nothing but BLACK when trying to use the amp straight HDMI out??? | member Joined: May 19, 2006 Posts: 7 |
It looks like your problem with HDMI is simmilar to mine. For the love of God I could not get my Pioneer Elite to work with Sony's VPL-HS-51 thru HDMI. After several phonecalls to Sony and Pioneer I was told that the problem is with the HDMI versions on both devices. Apparently the receiver is running on ver. 1.1, while the projector is on 1.0. This does not work. If it was the other way around it probably would but that is not the case. Sorry for the bad news but at this point your only option is to get a separate video processor w/HDMI switch with compatible firmware versions or settle for component calbes. It looks like we are both SOL (sh..t out of luck) when it comes to HDMI...
