I am having to replace a Barco IQ G300 verses the proposed BARCO cost to repair (which model is no longer in production). Due to the unreliability and error problems looking to replace with another model, we presently have an extensive AV rack equipment system which is controlled from a Crestron which supports power point briefs and maps, etc and clear visualability is a very high concern, your thoughts on aspect ratio/SXGA+ appreciated. I have reviewed projector centrals comparisons for 2500 Lumens and SXGA+ and numerous projectors are available with pricing fluctuating from 5k to 21k, could you enlighten me, I have found that the statement you get what you pay for not always true. | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,263 |
You aren't at DLA are you?
The Barco projectors are notorious for having issues and their support and culpability is horrendous. They simply don't stand behind their machines.
What size image are you looking to project?
What distance do you need this size from?
What resolutions are you required to support?
What other stange things may be going on in the room that may affect quality?
You need someone to program the Crestron? (let me know)
Do you plan to use a single screen image or perhaps go double or triple screen in format?
Do you plan to use VTC with this projector? What brand? (Tandberg 6000MXP?)
The bottom line is that there are definitely alternatives to Barco that should be excellent, but a few more questions need to be answered and you definitely want a company that stands behind their warranty and product better. AV Mod- thanks for the reply... I am very interested in what models would best suite our needs, will check out the Sanyo and Christie brand and will talk to you real soon. No need to reply. |
