I'm having an issue getting a Chromecast to display when run through an HDMI switcher/new projector. When I put the Chromecast directly into the Panasonic PT AE700U it will display like normal. However, my projector doesn't have an audio output itself and I can't hear the videos being displayed on a sound bar/speakers. If I plug the chromecast into an audio extractor so I can connect the audio to a sound bar, then it doesn't display. I think it's because my new projector's (Panasonic PT ae700u) highest display resolution is 1080i, the chromecast may recognize that when directly plugged in and automatically adjust to 720p. When it's plugged into the HDMI switcher or audio extractor though, I think it won't automatically adjust to a resolution the projector can display, like 720p. To use the Roku through the switcher, I had to adjust the resolution to stay on 720p. However, I don't have a remote to permanently adjust Chromecast resolution. I didn't have issues running Chromecast/Roku through a switch with my last projector, an InFocus 2126. Presumably because it could display 1080p. Is there any other way I can adjust the resolution of a Chromecast?
