Can't seem to find what I'm looking for...

1. Portable (battery or no battery)
2. Laser
3. 4K
4. Bright
5. Stereo speakers
6. Backlit remote control
7. Native Netflix (gotto be easy to watch Netflix)
8. Gaming

I might not necessarily need laser or 4K. Definitely want stereo speakers. Very much prefer a backlit remote. Gaming is a maybe. Easy Netflix a must.

What I've tried lately...

Anker Nebula Capsule 3 Laser:

It was pretty nifty, but lacked the native Netflix and the phone app solution for Netflix never worked out. Wasn't fond of having to Bluetooth my JBL Charge 4 for the audio. Not bright enough for my afternoon living room. Returned. (8/29/2024 Native Netflix is now showing on the ads)

Epson Epiqvision Mini EF12:

My favorite so far. The Yamaha speakers are great. No native Netflix. Such a hassle. Returned.

Dangbei Atom Laser:

At 100% volume, the speakers weren't loud enough. Returned.

Jimveo 4K:

Super cheap, so I bought it. Never used it. The power chord was so short, I'd need an extension chord to plug it in, whereas the other three I already tried had plenty of power chord. No remote batteries. Returned.

Anker Nebula Mars 3 Outdoor:

(8/30/2024) I tried this unit. Again, the non-native Netflix was clunky. There is a battery quantity indicator on the back of the projector that is a white segmented circle. I read reviews complaining of its nuisance and a possible update to the firmware to control it, but no update, and it did annoy me. That battery indicator is distracting in the dark when watching a show. The remote is not backlit, so I was fumbling around with my phone flashlight shining on the remote to control the projector. In order to watch Netflix, you have to download the Nebula Connect onto your phone and fiddle around with the setup in order to watch Netflix. Phone in one hand as a flashlight to see the Nebula remote in the other, press buttons on the remote, turn off phone flashlight, open Nebula Connect on phone, use phone to control Netflix on the projected image screen, and it's non-native so all kinds of weirdness. The projector is very cool and sturdy. Heavy due to the huge battery. Tons of sound--no external bluetooth speaker required. Enough luminosity to use it durning the afternoon sunlight in my white painted living room with plantation shutters closed. Basically all weather and enough battery to use it as a battery bank. If Netflix was native, I'd have kept it. Hoping it'll get an update. But for now, I returned it.

On my watch list:

1. Hisense C1 4k
2. Dangbei DBOX02 4k
3. Anker Nebula Cosmos Laser 4k
4. LG Cinebeam Q HU710PB 4k

Super cheap projectors are rarely 4K and often use single panel LCD displays not designed for front projection and the heat thereof.

This video is one of the better ones to watch and covers portable models really well. There are some other good ones on his site.
