Good morning I have a problem with my formovie theater 4K. I have a PS5 plugged into the HDMI 1 port. When I configure it to hdmi 2.1, the image regularly goes black (as if the projector is shutting off) for a few seconds. You can hear the games running in the background. It doesn't do it anymore when I switch to hdmi 2.0 I should point out that I bought a special high-speed HDMI 2.1 cable etc... Have any of you had this problem? Do you have an idea ? | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,354 |
I'm not sure what you mean when you say you set it to HDMI 2.1. That's not really a thing. The Formovie, like all DLP 4K projectors, does not support 4K/120hz resolution, which is part of the HDMI 2.1 specification. It only supports HDMI 2.0 (4K/60) for display.
HDMI really works in bandwidth, so HDMI 2.0 is capped at 18Gb/s. HDMI 2.1, with full support, is capped at 48Gb/s. But, for sure, the Formovie Theater does not support that at all.
So, I'm not sure what, specifically, you're trying to achieve or what the PS5 is putting out when you say you set it up for HDMI 2.1. AV Integrated - Theater, whole house audio, and technology consultation during the build and installation process in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. |
