Topic: Will all floor rising screens move, even if only a little, with a ceiling fan on full blast near it?

It depends on how much tension is being put on the screen and how much actual airflow is going on. A floor rising screen, using a tensioning system, is being pulled tight in all directions. This means that it isn't just a loosely flailing sail in the wind. So, it does handle some air movement without problem.
How much actual air movement created by the fan is an unknown, which means that it is impossible to tell if the air movement that occurs will be enough to impact the screen until the screen is in place and the fan is powered on.
To my knowledge, there has never been a published specification of how much air movement a tensioned screen can deal with. AV Integrated - Theater, whole house audio, and technology consultation during the build and installation process in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. |
