Hey! I currently have a panasonic ae8000u - she has been good, but the bulb ran dry from OEM, I have boughten 3 bulbs now from various suppliers, all with non-satisfactory results. The images just aren't bright enough like the original. Now that I am $600 down on bulbs I am getting frustrated! I don't want a dull cream color white when I am watching Movies! This is crazy!
SO anybody have a LEGIT place to get a bulb? I have tried My Projector Lamps USA and JASPER
Either way - That is the solution OR what is a great brightness projector now UNDER $$2500 that would offer an amazing image!?

While Pureland Supply is a fairly reputable source for lamps, I might seriously consider the time to upgrade is now and pick up a Epson 5050UB. It may be had for near your listed budget, but it remains the most direct replacement and upgrade for the AE8000. It has a very good black level and the zoom and lens shift that is very similar to the AE8000. Thank you for the response! How do the following projectors compare as well. I want REALLY REALLY good picture in this price range, haha, I have a Great room built, and can be black as night, but wouldn't mind the picture showing up even with the rope light on.

The Epson is a decent choice and will be much brighter than the AE8000U with higher reliability than the Optoma. It's a 'reasonable' option to the AE8000.
Neither is a top tier model in any way. Both are fairly lower mid-level.
If your room is good, the Epson 5050 is a MUCH better model and falls into the lower 'upper tier' level of quality. It offers a significant improvement on contrast with similar brightness to the Epson 3800.
You also need to consider lens shift and projector placement if making any changes. The Optoma most certainly will require you to move your mount. The 3800 has more flexibility than the Optoma, but not nearly as much as the Epson 5050.
