I'm looking for a lens for a Panasonic PT-DW10000U projector. Any thought on who might carry an old lens? I believe there were 5 lenses made for it. Edit: A little more digging lets me say that any of these three lenses would work for me: et-d75le1 et-d75le2 et-d75le3. And that there are some available on eBay at least. Those lenses have dramatically different throw distances associated with them. I'm not sure specifically what throw length you actually need, so be sure you are getting the lens which matches your requirements.
Typically, a standard lens, like the LE1 would have a price that is a fair bit less expensive than other lenses. But, that's a rather nice model, so pricing may be a bit higher.
If any of them really do work for you, then I would definitely scour eBay. That's kind of the best way of doing this as far as I've seen. You can also look for projectors which use the same lens and may be of lower cost that may be 'broken' but the lens is included. Sometimes that works out. But, it is a fair bit of work and research to get a really good deal.
For under $1,000, it may seem crazy, but it is likely a great price on the lens. It is definitely built to a higher standard than your typical cheap lenses on projectors. Thank you. It wouldn't have occured to me to look for cheaper projectors that use the same lenses. There are a lot of cheaper projectors that use the same lens being sold on eBay, but most of them are being sold without the lens. In at least a couple of cases, the same seller has the lens listed separately. But I'll keep my eyes out. Here's the too good to be true link. My use case is for a school gym where we won't be mounting it permanently, so I have some flexibility in the throw distance. that's why 3 of the lenses could work in my situation. I would prefer the LE2, but could make the LE1 or LE3 work as well. Just wanted to followup and say thank you. I did find a PT-D7700 on eBay with the lens for $550. I offered $350 for just the lens and it arrived today. What a nice projector! This is my first experience with this nice of a projector. I was not expecting the lens to be so substantial. |
