For an interactive installation, we are looking to purchase one or two projectors that can cover a 7 by 3.5 meter surface, from a 3m high throw distance. Ideally, one projector that can cover this with sufficient image quality would be great, but total budget would have to be below 10K so that's a long shot probably.

Thanks for any suggestions or tips.

7m in width from 3m is REALLY short throw and is going to typically run well over budget IMO.

I'm not sure how much brightness you really on this as well. Brightness is as much, if not more, of a factor as throw distance can be.

When you get it down to a 4:3 or similar model, then you have the 3.5m height driving things.

Looking at the projector finder, I put in a height of 3.5m and a throw distance of 3m (I used feet actually for everything) and this was my results list...<g=&ll=&wr=&dt=&mfg=&p=500&p=6000&t=&pjl_m=&pjw_m=&pjh_m=&exp4=1&td=9.84252&is=137.795&i=h&tr=&tr2=&exp5=1&oop=3&sort=brt&sz=15#list

A bigger issue, potentially here, is that two projectors side by side don't create one seamless image. So, you need to keep that in mind. If you want a single solid image, you need something that supports edge blending. Not sure that is detailed in the results list or can be.

Huh... Looks like it is an option in the features, so here we go:<g=&ll=&wr=&dt=&mfg=&p=500&p=6000&t=&exp2=1&sp=36&pjl_m=&pjw_m=&pjh_m=&exp4=1&td=9.84252&is=137.795&i=h&tr=&tr2=&exp5=1&oop=3&sort=brt&sz=15#list

The Canon is likely a solid performer here if you can get the lenses and keep it somewhat within budget. Short throw lenses tend to have a price tag that isn't super cheap. But, it's a heck of a way to get good performance as you need it.
