I bought an old projector that was pretty brand new: a dell 4210x with 10hrs on the lamp. I used it for about 10 hours and all bunch of white/black dots started appearing on my screen. Did some research and learned i needed to replace the dmd chip. Ordered a new chip, took apart the projector, replaced the dmd, also replaced the thermal tape (since i read that the thermal tape deteriorating was facilitating the chip failing) with non-conductive thermal paste originally (which got into the pins and holes of the dmd chip and holder but i cleaned off as much as i saw). Started putting my projector back together but decided to turn it on first to see if it worked. It didnt. I figured the paste was the problem so i bought thermal tape and removed the thermal paste, still didnt work. Installed the original dmd back in, still didnt work. I checked connectors and couldnt really see anything wrong.

When i turn on the projector, it makes a quick single flicker, then the Temp light turns ember and stays solid, while the power light flickers but also amber. The manual said that signals power supply was interrupted but unsure how to figure it out.

Would appreciate any help!

hi! I've been having a persistent issue with my Optoma i5 projector (the Chinese version of the UHL55). The problem is that the projector constantly tries to refocus, even when the image is already clear. It activates the auto-focus repeatedly, and eventually, I get an auto-focus error. The whole process then starts over.

At first, this was happening occasionally, but now it's every 5-10 seconds, and it's become really frustrating. I've even disabled the focus motor, but the error messages keep popping up, which is very distracting.

I've recorded a video showing the issue here: https://youtu.be/lq6FrXLql2M

Do you have any idea how I can fix this? What could be causing the projector to keep trying to refocus?
