Hi Frank, My tk 800 has about 2000 hrs on it. This week I noticed 1 white dot and now a few days later, I notice about 5 dots. Is it worth fixing? I really like this Projector. If you repair it, approx how long would it take and approx. $$$$ Thanks for taking the time.

I haven't seen Frank here in a while. You may have better luck asking on the Projector Central Facebook Group.

Please be aware, Frank is not affiliated with Projector Central, so if asking about pricing or repair costs or anything else, that is best handled through direct communication with him.

I know he only does repairs part time as he has a full time job already, so his availability isn't a ton.

To address more about your question, you would likely need a replacement DMD for the projector, which is a pretty significant repair. I personally believe the .47" DMD has issues. It's not a BenQ issue, as this issue has shown up with Optoma, LG, and Samsung models as well that use this .47" chip. Within a budget, it may be the most affordable option to get things working, but I would steer clear, personally, of the .47" 4K models if buying new. Just due to the number of reported issues with them.

BenQ and others have models with a larger .65" DMD in them, like the X3100i and similar which may prove to be incredibly reliable in the long term.

I have been working on this projector for a Local church and for the life of me can not find the problem. Ive replaced the lamp multiple times and the Solid Lamp LED is still on! i am purchasing OEM Bulbs and its still not working. ive tried reseating the cmos battery(letting it clear the mb memory)and testing connections on the inside. its quite concerning. I really want to get it back up and running because this is the churches only projector. they really dont have the funds to find a new projector and lens.

Thanks for mentioning the USA model. Might find more info on the projector.

In the meantime I made a test disconnecting all 3 lcd colors (R, G, B)

I still have a red screen, which basically tells me that for some reason the green light travels through the beam without anything blocking it. The other two colors obviously get blocked, the green not.

Is this kind of a polarizer in-out issue? Or what should actually block light to mix colors?

Any clues?

I don't know enough about the internal workings of projectors to give a definite answer. But, you may try asking within the Projector Central Facebook group as there is some real technical know-how within the group...

My Projector won't turn on and the status ID blinks blue and the lamp light blinks orange and no light output comes out of the projector. I tried changing the lamp and still no luck but I am pretty sure my old lamp has lots of hours still left. I'm thinking of taking it to some electronics for service but I'm not sure what could be wrong. I appreciate your insight on this.
