Hello Frank
I saw your video about the pt-ax100 iris problem on you YouTube channel. I have just acquired on of these projectors with the iris problem. I downloaded the service manual and was thinking to remove the iris module by following that, clean the module and re-assemble.
Would this potentially solve the problem and if so are there any things to be aware of in the process?

Hi Frank,
I’ve seen your videos on the Sim2 and I have the C3X 1080p and it’s currently showing purple bars across the entire screen. Is this something that’s fixable or what would you suggest?

I have a youtube channel with many videos covering a reasonable amount of issues. I'll share it if you are interested, but I am not advertising it which is why it's not posted up here.
While I know some repair folks think offering DIY advice is 'against the business' I disagree. I think everyone should at least know what they are dealing with if they take it somewhere and many other people are more than able to repair many common issues with DLP,LCD, LCOS etc. I also know a heck of a lot about lamps. What lamps are good, bad and what the real deal with lamps. Feel free to ask if you want any of the myths debunked.
Let me know what your model # is and what problems you are having.
Also, I am not an expert on newer projectors. I mostly see them after they are in the field for a while but I have tangled with a few of the newer LED/laser units.
Thanks for having such a useful and informative community and I look forward to talking to you.
Thanks!

Hi My projector lamp back cover just broken off. Can I continue using it? Is there any danger? Can it be repaired? May I know your opinion? Thanks in advance.

Hello Frank, I have here JVC DLA-X70RBU projector that does not work. Please quote it's repair if I provide you the symptoms. The symptoms are: initial indication was that lamp required replacement. When lamp was replaced, neither lamp no fan no shutter does not come on, timer reset cannot be performed from remote control according to instructions. Remote control has fresh batteries and communicates with projector initially - switches it from standby (standby light red) to On (standby light green). After being On for about 1 minute projector switches back to standby and indicators show as following: POWER/STANDBY indicator is RED on constantly (Standby), LAMP indicator flashing ORANGE continuously once per second, WARNING indicator is RED on constantly. I would appreciate your insights. Let me know if you have questions or need more info.

Be aware that you can't quote a repair exactly over the Internet on complex electronics as there may be many different things that could be associated with the problem, and an underlying cause which isn't immediately visible. Most likely, this is power related. Lamp ballasts are a common issue with projectors as are power supplies. These typically run several hundred dollars plus a few hundred for the labor to get repaired which has been my experience. You can always reach out to FixItFrank via his YouTube channel.
