Came back from summer to find they had mounted my projector to the ceiling. Great except they put the connector box way in the corner behind my desk. I have to connect my doc camera to that little box so I am Limited to its cord length. Even w an extension, I'm still trapped In this weird corner with little view of either students or screen. I teach middle school- they need to be watched constantly! Is there a wireless adaptor of some sort? | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,354 |
Why not just extend the cord? Wireless isn't reliable and really should not be a first go-to solution to everything. Wired is the way to go, and you can certainly extend any connection you have using either an extension cable or a second cable with a coupler.
Couplers are available from Parts Express, Monoprice, or Amazon typically along with the extension cable you may need.

The last line of your post says SO much! My district throws new technology at us in bits and pieces; with inadequate or no training. As an "older" teacher who is trying to keep up with ever changing tech, their approach makes it difficult. I'm sure budget is an issue, and rightly so, they've put the students needs first, and have done a pretty good job providing them with access to computers in school. I do have an extension to my doc cam, even so it doesn't get me near the front of class and I have to keep walking back and forth to mute projection to use boards which are misplaced behind the screen. Small problems I know, but those little things can add up! In my efforts to keep up with tech, I'm trying to dig out from beneath the mass of tangled cables whose sole purpose is to make me fall in front of my class! Really I'm just lame. And spoiled. That's why I want the wireless thingy. Didn't consider the dependability issue so thank you for that! | member Joined: Jan 7, 2017 Posts: 8 |
I have heard about wireless adaptors but not sure if these things will be compatible with your projector. I agree that you'll have a hard time with that. If nothing works well then it's time to change your adaptor. | member Joined: Mar 29, 2017 Posts: 5 |
I found an interesting wireless model of the projector, have you ever seen this? What do you think about it? http://mediaclass7.ru/shop/benq-mw529-pro/ |
