Hi,
I just received a Dalite Permwall with HC contrast 1.1 grey screen. Unfortunately, my house employee wanted to protect it from dust as i traveled for two weeks and removed it and stored it uncarefully.
As you can see in this picture the screen is now wrinkled, and i think that this can be a HUGE problem ... Is there a solution to totally repair it ?
I read elsewhere that some guys used a low heated iron, but i'm very worried to use such thing.. Maybe a hairdryer ?
Thank you for your advices.
Regards

Generally I believe there are good ways to repair this type of issue, but you will want to contact DaLite about how to properly flatten the screen material. you are right it's the best thing to do, i wouldn't want to definitely lose the screen...
I'll post their answer here for information. | member Joined: Mar 1, 2013 Posts: 12 |
they suggested to try a hair dryer. Be very careful not to get too close to the surface because it can burn. They recommended doing it while the screen surface is attached to the frame : """Some of the pock marks and wrinkles are pretty deeply embedded in the fabric. If heating the screen does not alleviate the issues you may need to replace the surface. You could use a hairdryer on high on the screen or heat gun 4” to 6” from the screen to apply heat to the back of the screen. While doing this, be sure to constantly move the hair dryer or heat gun to avoid discoloring or melting the fabric. You can also rub the fabric with your hand while heating it to help smooth the fabric out (gently pushing with the palm of your hand to deflect the fabric about 1” in the opposite direction of a crease). It may take about 10 to 20 minutes per crease to smooth the fabric out depending on the size and depth of the crease.""" Let's try this.... [Edited by tiesto14 on Apr 24, 2013 at 3:49 PM] |
