Our Sony VPL-PX41 projector is showing a leaking color on the 10'X13' display in the lower left of the screen. It's not the lamp and I've cleaned the lense but cannot make the blue go away.

You're right, it's not the lamp, the lamp will NEVER do that. And no amount of cleaning will cure the problem.

The problem is either one of the polarizers is burned or the blue LCD panel is degrading. Either way, it's a significant repair and could be costly.

Sheridan is correct. The issue is most likely with the LCD panels. The most common malfunction that this series has is its notorious burned out LCD bulbs that emits the projector's colors. Even more common is that the Blue LCD panel fizzle out first. This is due to the fact that the Blue LCD is the most used color out of the 3 LCD panels. And yes this can get pricey to service this device, but if you are looking for a temporary fix to the problem. We have a wide selection of high quality projectors you can rent out from AA Rental. We even have a similar model to your projector, the SONY VPL-PX40 projector. If you are interested you can click the links below and browse through our inventory.
