I just wanted to share my new Basement Theater project. The room is 17' Wide X 27' Long. The walls are 2X6 with double layer 5/8" drywall. The floor trusses above are engineered with 5/8" drywall attached. I am still able to fish wiring above the hard ceiling. There is a 1' drop from the drywall to the acoustic tile drop ceiling. All walls have a layer of spray foam insulation and a layer of R19 fiberglass insulation for soundproofing.

The system is as follows:
120" Vutec Elegante fixed wall screen with bright white finish
Epson Home Cinema 8350 Projector with a Peerless PRG-UNV mount.
Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver
Sony BDPS590 Bluray player. Not sold on the 3D yet
Velodyne Optimum 12 Subwoofer
Pinnacle BD650(Black Diamond) center channel with dual 6 1/2" woofers
Pinnacle LCR's for fronts, mid surrounds, and rear surrounds. Each in-wall has dual 6 1/2" woofers to match the center channel. 14 6 1/2" speakers in total
Motorola DC6300 series HD cable box
Universal Remote Control MX3000 remote
Universal Remote Control MRF350 UHF base station
Universal Remote Control UHF Lutron light switches
Buttkicker drives under the seats with Buttkicker amplifier
Weidamark 600 strand fiberoptic star ceiling kit
Nintendo Wii system with an HDMI converter

The room has 5 coats of Merlot colored wall paint. I CAREFULLY painted the acoustic ceiling tiles with 5 coats of gloss black. The ceiling track for the tiles is gloss black. The carpet is Caristan Black Granite color. There is also a strand of rope lights under the step to the second level of seating. I handmade a movie marquee that is hanging outside the room on a wall. It has rope lights inside of it. I just purchased a metal poster case with chase lighting and back lighting for the poster. Haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I am having an electronics cabinet made to hold my electronics. I will have an Active Thermal Management air flow system installed for cooling. The case will have a clear glass top with display space underneath. Rabid Steeler fan here. I needed somewhere to display my replica NFL stadiums. I also have movie posters that need hung in the room. Still a work in progress.
