I have a simple but very satisfying home theater set up (largely thanks to this website, incidentally). I would like to get a rack that would handle a receiver, blu-ray player, dvd player, apple tv, computer and a couple of other pieces. Do people have any recommendations? If I can get something good for $200-300 that would be great; if the money bought something substantially better I could go as high as $850.

Thanks!

While I use Middle Atlantic for a lot of my racks, you can find some great stuff at Racksandstands.com which is a killer website for finding equipment racks.

Getting a really nice rack can be expensive, so it really depends on what your tastes are more than anything else.

Always worth checking Craigslist as well for a local deal on a nice used A/V rack. May deliver a lot more than you would typically get.

I went to telco-grade racks years ago and am really happy that I did. I use a rack-mount case for the PC in the setup, and I use standard shelves for each piece of equipment. Craigslist in my area is a good source for me for this kind of thing, and you can probably find a nice cabinet with front and back rails for less than $200 if you keep your eyes open. My particular case has wood sides and nice 50% opaque black front door, so the equipment isn't as noisy or unsightly.

Fry's Electronics sells shelves and other rack parts, but they typically don't sell four-post cabinets.
