Quote (BAD on Feb 4, 2010 10:15 PM):university- what size of room are u trying to fill in? w/o knowing much of your dimensions of the room, i would highly suggest svs subs. THEY are the BEST QUALITY and bang for your buck. At your price range u can get this : http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb12nsd.cfmThat should be more than enough bass for a normal sized room 15x20... Trust me, it is worth the 600$ price tag... Pay no mind to BIC America because they would be a waste of a good 300$ that could go to a great sub, instead of a normal entry level sub... |
Thanks for the info, my media room is 20ft long x 15ft wide and has insulation in the walls for soundproofing. It has built in shelves at the entry way for the room where I planned to install the sub at the bottom. It that a bad place to put the sub? | member Joined: Apr 26, 2009 Posts: 96 |
There is no clear cut to sub placement... but i hope you are not trying to place that sub inside a shelf??? if so, i would highly suggest not to do this...another small tip is to not place the sub too close to the walls, specially if you are corner loading the bass... Give it ample breathing room so that it can displace air properly... but other than that, u just have to find that sweet spot... Also, i hit your dimensions right on the head...lol...Enjoy that svs... | member Joined: Mar 8, 2010 Posts: 2 |

Okay so I got the SVS PB-12 and really can't believe how great it is for the money. I have it set up with 7 surround speakers (Atlantic Technology), a Yamaha RXV 1900 receiver, and a Mitsubishi HC3800 projector. The sub steals the show and makes all my other equipment seem pedestrian. I would highly recommmend this box. |
