I recently bought a house that has a great media room. Already has 7 surround speakers (Atlantic Technology?) mounted in the walls and has a hookup for a projector. I need to buy a good subwoofer for the room and have no idea even where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not trying to spend a fortune but I would like a good one. I've been researching the same thing. What is your budget? [Edited by ProjectorBoy on Feb 6, 2010 at 9:48 PM] | member Joined: Jan 31, 2010 Posts: 8 |
Thanks, I was looking to stay within $500 if possible maybe a little more. | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,330 |
SVS has some nice ones: www.svsound.com
Also always worth a look at www.audiogon.com
eBay occassionally has a deal as well. I always look at the Velodyne HGS series subwoofers, which are discontinued, but were the top shelf model prior to their Digital Drive (DD) series, and were very expensive... and still tough to find under $700 or so for the smallest one (HGS-10).

university- what size of room are u trying to fill in? w/o knowing much of your dimensions of the room, i would highly suggest svs subs. THEY are the BEST QUALITY and bang for your buck. At your price range u can get this : http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb12nsd.cfmThat should be more than enough bass for a normal sized room 15x20... Trust me, it is worth the 600$ price tag... Pay no mind to BIC America because they would be a waste of a good 300$ that could go to a great sub, instead of a normal entry level sub... |
