During extensive renovations of our apartment, we had an av cabinet made to my design, that houses a 90 inch 16 x 9 retractable pull up screen, that pulls up in front of our 42 inch wall mounted plasma when in use. When not in use it tucks neatly hidden under a piano hinged lid, out of sight, hence keeping the wife onside .

I thought I'd share my idea with you guys, as I think it is a pretty clever design, and something you normally cant purchase off the shelf. After seeing a floor mounted scissor lift cartridge screen, and that they are now available at more affordable cost, I merged the idea into my cabinet design, with great success.

I am running the fabulous Sanyo PLV-Z5 LCD projector, and for the time being a Panasonic SCHT-840 all in one progressively scanned DVD 5.1 system which is doing a nice job providing us room filling sound, but we plan to update that to some mid end specialist audio gear mid next year when we have the available funds.

I'd like to further add that, thanks to this forum and the many reviews on the Sanyo PLV-Z5, it really helped us make our purchasing decision. We purchased ours back in May 2007, and its been everything and more than what we were expecting. Bang for buck, this projector just represents fantastic value for money, considering just 7 years ago projectors offering this image quality cost 4 times as much.

Lucky for us, projectors like the computer industry, this technology has exponentially got better and cheaper every year.
