I am a new Mits. 3000 user and am 95% satisfied with the performance of this projector for the price. My last TV was a 32" CRT so this is a huge upgrade and I love it!!! I bought a Tribal projector screen online with diamond white 1.0 gain matte white screen material.

My question though is about some sparkling effects I see if background images that are light in color.

Anyone have any ideas about fixes or corrections?

Are you by chance using a long HDMI cable? If you are, that could be the cause of your sparklies. Try testing with a shorter cable and see if the symptom goes away. Or use component instead of HDMI and see if that fixes it.

If you move your head, do the sparklies move or go away? If so, it could be the optical coating on your screen. If that's the problem, you need a different screen to get rid of them.

Just two possibilities.

The sparkles didn't seem to be there when I was just setting up the projector and using a short video cable. Now I have component cables and they run through the attic and wall. They are 25' in length. I will check the connections.

The screen looked great in my original set up. I don't think that is the problem.

If it is the cables is there anything I can do about them?

Get a 25ft hdmi cable from monoprice. Also is the cable shielded? You might be getting interference from an electrical cable?

Component cabling should have very little loss over 25 feet. Are you crossing an electrical cable, or a flourescent light fixture? It's likely that the sparklies are coming from some sort of interference.
