Digital Projection HIGHlite 4000Dsx
Projector Specs
I'm just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the lamp life for the Digital Projection HIGHlite 4000 projectors. I'm running 4 of theses roughly 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Over the last 3 years I've had to replace 4 lamps with around 900-1000 hours on them -- about 500-600 less than expected. At $2,200 each, through DP, it can get pretty costly

Also, I'm looking for another manufacture (3rd party manufacture) who can supply lamps for these projectors. Any ideas for a dependable vendor?

When you use the projectors that much, 900-1000 hrs is about what you can expect as effective lamp life. But with that lamp prize, I would seriously consider buying a new projector next time. The specs on that one didn't really impress, measured with todays standards. It was extremely noisy. Nowadays, projectors producing 3500-4000 ansi lumens with contrast ratios at 2000:1 has a typical noise level of 33-40 dB. That you will experience as about half the noise.
