We have a Sanyo PLC-XP46 - has been working fine for several years and suddenly it will only project an image in black and white.

The menu sysetm comes up in color, I've set the no input screen to blue, that works.

The DVD player I'm using works fine when hooked up to a monitor - color information is transmitted.

I'm using the RCA in on the projector.

Does anyone know of a setting I'm missing to restore color? I have gone through the whole menu system and manual and can't seem to find anything.

It doesn't appear to have a dedicated video input, but one that can be configured for component/composite. Make sure in the menu settings of the input setup, you choose INPUT 3 -> VIDEO not S-video or component (Y/Cb/Cr).

See page 30 of the manual.

If this doesn't work, and input 2 is open, try getting a BNC/RCA adapter and connecting to the first input on the BNC connectors at input 2 and see if that works.

Typically black and white images are caused by S-Video not being correctly connected. Not sure in this case what is doing it... But, my guess is that you have it set for component.
