I would confirm the bulb issue is resolved. I haven't heard anything official. Even if it has, make sure the projector that you buy has a new bulb.

Please do yourself a favor, the Pe7700 and Mt700 ARE Not FIXED...the "new" bulbs are still failing.....HDMI problems, mainboard failures...long wait times....

Please do not buy one, I had a Mt700 (Toshiba clone) and it had to be bought back by Toshiba, lucky for me squeeky wheel got greased.

I would stay far away from it, unless I could purchase it at 1k or lower....to make up for all the trouble you WILL have with it.

In a few more weeks new 720p units will be available, the Pe7700 and Mt700 put out a great picture and have nice features.....BUT they are the worst in terms of reliability I have seen in the 9 years of FP I have been in...

make no mistake, they are defective in design.

Hi all

Just thought i'd share this info with you all. This response is from Benq when asked about the lamp issue. I'm glad it's been resolved but i was disappointed with the last sentence. I'm sure i wouldn't be alone in saying how pathetic the warranty term is.

From BenQ:

This issue has been addressed on the new shipments, but there are a few one with the lamp issue out there.

If the lamp fails before the warranty on the lamp has passed we will replace the lamp. Warranty on lamp is 3 months or 500 hours what ever comes first.

Regards

I lodged a sales enquiry on their Australian website and had a response within 2 hours. Hats off to BenQ for the response time. But the warranty issue still sucks.
