Surprisingly, the Z4 is only 467 dollars more than the Z3. And my dad just agreed to get it. | --- Advertisement ---

I wouldn't call a 576p projector a bad choice, but if the money allows for the Z3, AE700 or newer 720p LCD projectors, than those projectors IMO are a definite step up in quality.
576p, if it were the same price as a 480p projector, may be worth it, but they are typically priced closer to the 720p LCD projectors that are of very high quality. DLP, in my opinion, is getting to the point where it is simply over priced. Just a year or two ago it was easy to say that DLP offerred a fair bit more for the cash, but now? I just don't think it makes sense.
Forget resolution, to many people judge projectors on resolution and visible screen door, they don't look for motion handing, processing, scaling, etc. Yes, a 576p DLP has a finer pixel structure than a 480p machine, but that's just part of an overall equation. Likewise, 720p projectors are just one part of the equation - more pixels.
I would get the Z3 if that was the peak of my budget. Then an AE700 if I could. Then the Z4 or AE900. AV Integrated - Theater, whole house audio, and technology consultation during the build and installation process in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. | --- Advertisement ---
