Hello all, I am looking to purchase a new projector for a new theater build. My old room was 12 ft. wide X 22 ft. long and 8 ft. ceilings. Bought a new house and am building a room addition for a theater room that is 18 ft. wide X 24 ft. long and 11 ft ceilings completely light controlled. I would like 150 inch screen, 3d,4k or pixel shift and projector mounted at back of room. Any recommendations on best projector for my set up would be great. Thanks all. | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,186 |
24', let's call it 22' lens to screen is a pretty significant throw. With a room that size and a screen that size, I would be looking at something like the Epson 5050UB or better as budget allows.
JVC models are nice as are the Sony models, but they will be in the $5,000+ range. Under $3,000, the Epson 5050UB is pretty much impossible to best. Thanks for the reply, I was thinking the Epson 6050, I also was looking at the Epson LS12000 but no 3D and I have a lot of 3D movies. |
