Topic: Warping software for curved screen

I have bought a curved screen and i’m searching for low cost warping software for windows.
My setup : - Optoma HD26 - Grandview 106 inch curved screen - Home pc with nvidia card and windows 10 64 bits
I didn’t want a professional software, it’s just for movie viewing and some gaming ( No simulator game )
I’m considering Immersive display pro Basic licence from Fly Elise NG
Any other ideas? No free software for home use only?

Since you lose resolution, sharpness, and focus when using a curved screen, and curved screens are really designed to be used with very specific lenses to adjust for the curve of the screen, you are now finding out exactly why there really isn't software that is readily available for your setup. While there is some, and some may have a cost, it still won't fix the main 3 issues which will still be in place.
This is why a curved screen should never be used in anything other than very specialized setups, which may be a lesson you may not care about, or may just be finding out about now.
Please do let us know how the final result turns out. I really am interested in hearing how you enjoy the final product, and I do wish you luck in getting solid results. Indeed, I had my lesson the hard way.
Unfortunately I can no longer go back or resell the canvas.
So I have to find an alternative, so far I have tested Fly Elise and the result is there. The other solutions are only for professional installations. | moderator Joined: Mar 28, 2005 Posts: 13,100 |
Would love to see some photos when you have everything all done. I'm sure it all looks great and you can provide some information to others who may be considering going down this pathway as well. Hello, We were just talking about this today. Basic curved-screen adjustments have appeared in classroom style projectors for years now, not really sure how often its used... But looked at the NVidia site, and it appears that they do have some sort of capability built in... https://developer.nvidia.com/warp-and-blend (This link is for programmers... I wonder if any of their cards has users accessible controls). Regards John |
