Hi,

I've been asked to find a new projector for a professional group I belong to. We hold an annual scientific meeting with about 100 participants. The location is different every year - typically it's held at some resort with a large conference room and the room usually stays fairly well lit. Our old projector died - it was a Casio XJ-S57. It did an adequate job - occasionally a presenter would complain about the color being off.

Any suggestions on projectors or how I can start to narrow down what we need.

Thanks

If you like the form factor, and the brightness was good, then you should have better results with this:

https://epson.com/For-Work/Projectors/Portable/PowerLite-1781W-Wireless-WXGA-3LCD-Projector/p/V11H794120

It's a widescreen WXGA projector (1280x800 resolution) instead of XGA, so it will be similar in format to your laptop, which is good moving forward, but may not fit a portable screen that you may already have. Welcome to 2001, we are going widescreen.

The price is right, and it should actually be brighter because of the technology used (LCD vs. DLP).

XGA projectors are also out there for even less money, but don't make as much sense...

There's a ton on the Epson website, and it may be worth looking into the price of Epson replacement lamps, because many of them are under $100 for a factory original Epson lamp FROM EPSON. That's the best pricing in town.
