Ive found a refurbished deal for a Acer h6517st for $399 im thinking about purchasing it however theres also a refurbished benq ht1085st for $697 and I know the features are better but at $300 more I could do so much with that extra $300.

what would you guys do???

im getting a short throw projector for gaming and movies as well as watching sports and watching music visualizers im going to aim this at my ceiling over my bed in my bedroom.

ive not been able to find a video showing off the performance for the acer h6517st or testing it does anyone know where I can find a sample video of it in action?

The price is good, and considering your non-critical viewing, it seems like it would be a good buy.

Be aware, that you can't just tilt a projector in any direction and expect it to last. Check the manual if you plan to point in upwards towards you ceiling.

Oh, and videos of a projector in action are useless... Truly. Only really cruddy projectors can have video taken and have the flaws show easily. Decent entry level models, like this one, use full 1920x1080 resolution which you can't properly capture on video to show on the Internet. Read reviews, and expect this model to perform similarly to Optoma or InFocus models. It will be bright, it will be more susceptible to RBE issues, but it will be solid enough of a performer.
