Have had a Sony HS20 projectorfor 10 years and am very pleased with it. Power board recently went bad and cost to repair is $750. Debating on whether to repair it or get a newer model. Not thrilled about spending $2k-$3k in new projector but could do if absolutely worth the improved image quality. Something tells me to repair it and enjoy the thing for another 10 years. Thoughts?

If the BenQ W1070 works with your setup, then you can get a far superior projector for about $730 brand new, with a new lamp, and a new projector warranty.

VERY time to replace.

Your Sony HS20 has only 1000 lumens and resolution of 858x484. Even if you can repair it yourself, it is still not worth it. Get a new projector.

The link at the top was for the HS2, not the HS20. I corrected this. But, regardless, the HS20 is extremely outdated and brand new projectors with far higher image quality can be had for less than the repair cost. Yes, for $2,000 you can get even better, but the jump in quality for under $1,000 in cost will be significant.
