Has anyone heard of the Quantum brand for projectors? I recently purchased one and the LCD board broke. We cannot find the part anywhere and the Quantum website only has an email contact and no one will return my multiple emails.

Sorry, but I think you made a big mistake buying this. I looked at their website and everything about it throws up "red flags". The HUGE, unrealistic MSRP is one and the fact that you have no direct contact info other than an email is also a biggie.

The specs are sadly lacking or unimpressive.

I wish you luck but I really think you'll be eating this.

Yes thanks, I think you are right. We purchased it without much research. When something is too good to be true, it probably is! Do you have a suggestion on a decent projector at a relatively low cost? Is it posible to get one under $1000? This was a rash decision and now I've got a huge screen and no projector!

Thanks again.

Sure you can. Tell us more.

1) What is your throw distance(lens to screen)?

2) Screen size?

3) Do you want to ceiling mount projector or use a shelf?

4) Is DLP OK?

Mark - There are plenty of projectors out there from reputable manufacturers that are in the $1,000 range.

The FAQs section at the top of each forum discusses many questions you may have, and there is a 'Search' function which may help some, but this list, is really a good place to start your homework...

http://www.projectorcentral.com/home-theater-multimedia-projectors.htm

This list is a search for 1080p projectors under $1,000:
http://www.projectorcentral.com/projectors.cfm?g=1&hide=0&st=1&mfg=&p=700-1000&w=&r=13&br=&ll=&t=&db=&dt=&c=&ar=&dvi=&pjl=&pjw=&pjh=&td=&i=d&is=&sort=pop

Several of those projectors are reviewed by Projector Central and ALL of them are from reputable manufacturers.

None are 'Full HD 3D' models. To get the full active shutter glasses 3D you have to go to about $1,300 for the Epson 3010 or the Optoma HD33 both of which are very good models for the money.
