I have a Mitsubishi DLP projector HC3000. The lamp went out so I ordered a new one from Pure Glare in Walnut CA. The blub came looked excactly the same as the old one. I carefully change it. Reset the blub life timer and it worked beautifully for 30 minutes then vertical lines appeared in the screen about 2 inches apart across the whole screen. I called Pure Glare and they sent me a new lamp with no problems and I am to sent the first on back. I installed the second land just as before and the same thing happened again. Do you have any thoughts on the matter?

It isn't the lamp, the lamp will NEVER do that, it isn't possible. No, what has happened is something in the projector has failed. Either a bad connection or the image processor. It needs to go in for service.

Thank you for your post. My owners manuel says something about interference with the screen surface and to replace the screen or displace the focus a little. If fine streaks are seen on projected images. I don't quite understanthat one. Any thoughts on that statement? Thanks again we have had the projector for several years and it has been wonderful. I just don't understand why if in changing the Lamp the lines would appear.

The lamp, if it is not a Mitsubishi branded model, could be pulling different voltages than expected which could cause a surge of some sort in the projector and an electronics failure.

The manual is talking about an inferior screen causing issues, but if you haven't seen the issue before, and actually have a color issue of lines, then you are definitely having some sort of electronics issue, and if occurred when you swapped the lamp, my guess is that the lamp had an issue of some sort, most typically caused by not using a genuine branded product. Though, you didn't state specifically that it is not a Mitsubishi branded lamp.

Unfortunately, it isn't going to be an 'easy' fix anymore it seems.
