You have to send it to the dealer for an update:

Look at the 4th post of this thread for instructions on how to check your firmware version and other useful stuff.

With all due respect ... this is completely incorrect.

Version 1.07 firmware only addresses PAL/SECAM video color balancing.

Anything more is incorrect rumor which, if tracked back (via the AVS Forum) will be found to be nothing more than hopes/wish list that was misunderstood but posters.

Here is the quote directly from Japan:

"The official ( and real) comment on the firmware 1.07 is as follows.

Serial number for firmware 1.07 is 514**** or after.

As we informed the difference between 1.05 and 1.07 is only PAL/SECAM video color balance, so we do not take any special action for this change."

If it would help to finally kill this rumor ... I'd be glad to produce the email itself.

A phone call today to Panasonic Canada revealed otherwise. They specifically told me that firmware version 1.07 addresses the VB issues as well. Not sure I believe them, but I am going to send off an older firmware version to get updated to see if the VB is gone on the unit.
