I have owned this Toshiba XP2 projector for a few years. Now, there are thses random white dots (pixels) all over the screen. The number of dots is increasing every week.

See attatched photos.

So what's your question? The "random white dots" are failing pixels. there is no cure other that replacing the optical engine. The cost for that makes replacing the projector a far more economical and practical solution.

Don't kill the messenger. Sorry for the bad news but I've seen it many times. It is not a cheap repair. And in case anyone else asks, it is NOT dust. Those dots are all the same size and shape and are defined by the pixel grid.

Wow, yeah, that doesn't look good.

I'm guessing you see this across all inputs and you've tried different sources to ensure that it is consistent.

But, any issue of this magnitude is a projection killer.

Time to move on to a Panasonic or Epson which should last for years without this type of issue.

Still, a shame when something of this nature happens.
