I am looking for a solution (company and/or hardware) that can be rented for a conference where we will be projecting our software in 3D in front of a group of several hundred viewers. We need a projector that provides a vertical resolution height of 1080 and is compatible with nVidia Quadro graphics card. Any ideas?

You will want to check infocomm.org for local professional A/V companies and make some phone calls about companies which rent.

My guess is that if you are looking for a 3D presentation of some sort that you are looking for a passive 3D setup using a silver screen and a projector which is bright enough to fill a large screen.

This is going to be a REALLY tough one I expect as the demand for 3D, while growing, is still pretty darn small, and a nicer 3D projector with high lumen output is typically $30,000+ for the projector. The screen is specialized, and the glasses are cheap.

I would expect this to run about $3,000+ for a day. Not sure what your budget is, but I wanted to throw out an estimate. They won't just give someone a projection setup like that, so it will come with setup and breakdown labor included along with that type of rental.

Projector Specs
This topic was started last year, but I found it when searching for 3d projection rental. There aren't a lot of companies out there that do this, and I don't think there are ANY that do it nationwide except for one. In full disclosure I work for the company, but I've also done a lot of research before we bought any equipment to find out if there was anyone else out there doing stuff like this. No one else was, so we jumped in the ring.

Here's our page about 3D: http://www.meetingtomorrow.com/category/3d-projection

Here's some information that will be important to know before you call us or anyone else:
There are two types of 3D projection: active or passive. Active is usually just one "3D capable" projector but it requires everyone to have expensive glasses that shutter and have a battery. They also require line of site and you have to be close enough to the screen that the IR that's being projected can be seen.

The other method is passive 3D projection. It requires two projectors with polarizing filters and a specialized polarization preserving screen. We own two 20ft truss screens so we can make an image large enough for groups of hundreds of people. This also allows you to use regular passive 3D glasses (like in the theaters) so that makes them much more comfortable for users.

I hope this helps anyone else who is looking for this in the future. Feel free to give us a call if you want more information!

In Spain, I have found one company that offers a passive 3D projectors. Asking prices have to charge $ 2 for glasses and projector rental is approximately $ 12,000 not want to give many details of prices.
I've been looking and the company works with Barco projectors home.
