I did a google search for free dvd ripper. What mainly come to my eyes are Handbrake, Xilisoft, Winxdvd and Wondershare. In order to get best quality, iv tried one by one.
Handbrake: with VLC media program, it takes me 10 hours to rip 2hours and a half movie.
Xilisoft: when i click add file in this program comes a windows that says:
A VIDEO SEQUENCE HEADER IS NECESSARY FOR VERY GOP IN A STANDARD DVD.
THE VIDEO SEQUENCE HEADER IS INCORRECT
Winxdvd: though the speed is really fast, I am confused with the parameter setting.
Wondershare: the actors' spoken words don't match the movement of their lips.

So, can I do a search here?
Question1: when you choose a DVD ripper, what you most care about?
A, free B, speed C, quality D, easy-to-use
Question2: if you have chance to choose one from the above, which one do you prefer?
A, Handbrake B, Xilisoft C, Winxdvd D, Wondershare

I typically use Handbrake because I'm taking stuff to Apple format, but I'm pretty much done with that.

I now just use AnyDVD and pull a copy straight to my hard drive without any re-encode.

What I want is something easy to use and that maintains the quality of the original. A bit-for-bit copy is critical for this, and hard drive space is relatively inexpensive if you are building a media center.

4TB is a few hundred bucks and can store over 500 DVDs natively with zero quality loss.

Slysoft makes the best products I have ever used.

eher, I used to use handbrake, it's totally free and great DVD re-encoder. But for DVD ripping, now I turn to iFunia, it's easiest to use I have tried.

To choose a DVD ripper, I care about most is the interactivity, just easy to use, and then the quality, the speed I think are almost similar.

I prefer xilisoft. It is a good one for me. It is very simple too. I just look for how easy it is. If it is free, I will be more happy.
