Topic: 2 center speakers into one center speaker connection on AV receiver.

the receiver is rated 100W 6-8 ohms for each channel (all rated the same). Its a digital amp Panasonic saxr57
the altec speakers are 8 ohms 100W max (model AL 115)
the sound dynamics are 8 ohm nominal 4 ohm min. (model SD R-55)
According to murph_pei its not going to work as the receiver channel is not rated to 4 ohms... | member Joined: Nov 30, 2007

Went ahead and hooked up the altecs (2) into the centre channel, and its working fine. I don't notice any audible depreciation in sound quality etc. from 1 to 2 centre speakers. But having two balances the sound from the big screen much nicer. |
