Da-lite (Model B), Draper (Luma) and Elite Screens are the most available screens in my area, and I have listed them in order of most expensive to least. I need a manual pull-down screen for my living room, and would prefer the 100-106" diagonal size. Less expensive is of course preferable, but I still want to see a good picture.
Does anyone have experience with these screens? I haven't been able to find any reviews on the Draper or Elite screens to compare how they stack up agains the Da-lite. How badly do they suffer from waves? What about Image viewing angle? They are all standard with Matte White finish. I don't want to go the DIY route at this time.
I appreciate any help / advice / reviews. | Joined: Jun 24, 2004 Posts: 6 |
I've had no experience with Elite screens. But there's not much difference between the Da-lite Model B and Draper Luma. Both are quality products. The only real difference the the choice of screen materials which are available for each. Dalite offers Matte White, High Contrast Matte White, Glass Beaded, Video Spectra 1.5, Silver Matte and High Power. Draper's choices are Matte White, High Contrast Grey and Glass Beaded. Thanks. After some negotiations with my husband regarding construction, I've decided to expand my screen options to include Do It Yourself varieties after all. Now we are looking at purchasing screen materials, or a suitable substrate for Goo systems. (Painting my walls are NOT an option) I have requested samples from Da-lite as they have cut-to-size options and goo systems as well. Will let you know when they get here what they look like. | member Joined: Jun 29, 2005 Posts: 14 |

If you go with the Da-Lite Model B, get the Deluxe model as it has a tensioning tab to keep the screen tight and smooth and to eliminate waves that sometime show up on pull down screens. Look at it here. http://www.da-lite.com/products/product.php?cID=9&pID=237 | --- Advertisement ---
