Thanks for your reply! I played around with the menus extensively the other day to try to get it to do as you say. Unfortunately the projector auto detects the type of connection and I have no ability to change this. Right now it says RGB and I can't select anything else. I've read the manual which acts like you can change the setting for type of connection (however in practice all other options are grayed out), but I'll play around some more and see if I can find something I missed. If I can't find anything, would a box like this work: http://www.cablewholesale.com/specs/40h1-50300.htm Thanks again for responding, really appreciate it.
Generally speaking, you have to tell the projector that you want to use the input for component video in the menu settings. Simply plugging things in is only half the process. The other half is going into the menu of the projector itself, and telling the projector to look for component video on the PC (RGBHV) or the video input. RGBHV is a completely different color space than component video which is Y Pb Pr. There is no 'green' inforation with component video per se, which explains what's going on. Look for something in the menu and you should be good.
Topic:   Projector setup problems

Hi, I just got an older Sanyo PLC-EF10NZ projector and am trying to set it up. The projector has a couple inputs including two for video and two for computer inputs. The video input has three component plugs with BNC jacks on them, and an s-video input jack. The computer input section has 5 plugs labeled RGBHV also with the BNC jacks. When I connect my receiver using the component cables (previously used to display HD signals) by addubg some BNC to RCA tips on the end of my component cable and plugging them in, it will only display in 480i. The projector is capable of displaying up to 1080i, but when I switch to a channel that is in 1080 or 720p I just get static. I thought I would sneak my way around this by using the computer input, but when I plug my same cables into the R, G, and B inputs on the computer side, the pictures will come up in 1080 or 720, except the picture is tinted green and adjusting the colors doesn't matter, it's very green. My receiver only has regular component out, thus I have nothing to plug into the H and V BNC inputs for the computer input. So, I hope I was clear with that, but does anyone have any ideas about getting either one to work? I've been trying non-stop for two days and still just get nothing above 480 out of my projector on the video inputs, or nothing but video tinted green on the computer inputs... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jim
