Topic:   Epson HC 3000 vs 3100

Haven't been able to find much info on the web regarding a comparison between these two projectors. Epson HC 3100 is a bit brighter than the 3000, but are there any other notable differences? Thanks, Mark

Topic:   Epson 3000 VERY loud fan noise

I purchased an Epson PowerLite 3020 almost a year ago or so. I had multiple problems with it and they ended up sending me four different replacement units, over the course of 9 months. I realize that that number is very excessive and in my entire life I have not had this many problems with any sort of electrical device whatsoever. The last unit that they sent me is a Epson 3000. It has worked fine for about for five months now and only has about 400 hours on the bulb. About a week ago I started to get a very very loud fan noise, much louder than a refrigerator and about half the loudness of a air dryer if that makes sense. I have changed the settings to eco-with auto Iris off and I'm still getting the same problem. I have removed the air filter and vacuumed out that area and there does not seem to be any dust in there and the filter is clean. All of the lights on the projector are lit up blue so it does not seem like it was overheating. It is not hot to the touch either. It is mounted above my couch with about 18 inches of clearance from the ceiling and there is an air conditioning vent which is actually blowing cold air about 2 feet behind it. At this point, this is my fifth projector overall from Epson and this is becoming incredibly frustrating. In addition, I have changed HDMI cables, power cables, my cable box, receiver and tested the amperage of the outlet and it is completely normal. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter

Topic:   Projector and Bluray Player Color Depth

Hello all. I have purchase the following projector: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product.do?sku=V11H653020 The projector supports 10 bit color depth, but is an HD projector and not a 4K projector. I have read that only 4K bluray players and discs support the 10 bit color depth. My questions are: Should I buy a 4K player that can transmit 10 bit colors and play thru it HD and 4K discs? (knowing that the image will "only be HD")? Should I buy an upscaling bluray player that has 10 bit capabilities? Should I buy a regular bluray player for now and wait until 4K player prices will drop?

I don't understand why the projector has to hang down from the ceiling 3 or 4feet to center pic with 129" diagonal.8'6"ceiling hight.

Topic:   Possible issues with audio/video lag

Just want to say, first time poster. I recentrly dipped my toes in the home cinema department. Purchesed my epson home cinema 3000 and awaiting its arrival as i type this. Now the possible issue is this: Since the projector doesent have a speaker or audio out port, keepin in mind im gonna stream through my computer through a 20 ft hdmi cable to the projector, can i expect the video from the projector to be in sync with the audio comming out of my speakers from the pc, and if there is a lag present any suggestions on how to fix it? Thank you in advance and cheers!
