So i love this projector been using it forever, works perfectly for what i do and still looks great... I know its old but i am trying to learn and i would like to learn on this projector cause if i break it i can just buy a new one. However i have noticed discoloration lately specifically on magenta colors. I am almost positive its a polarizer just dont know which one. I am pretty new to projectors but have been taking things apart for many years and this will not be something to new to me.... I have pulled the polarizers out and they all look fine to me but i really dont know what i am looking for. I do have a service manuel to this projector. But of course its not too much help. I need and expert from here :) So i have taking pictures of both the image and the inside of the projector. Thanks again for this great site and thanks for any help
I am thinking green polarizer based on how much light its getting in the pics. but do you just replace all three when they go out? There like 68.00 each and is there a cheaper place to buy parts from.

We have a sharp xv-dw100u that has performed beautifully over the years. Unfortunately when we now turn on the projector the image is totally in green. If we turn on the DVD player the image starts to flicker and stays in that green color. We just replaced the lamp thinking that was the problem, but still have the same problem. We did not make any changes to our configuration; we just turned on the projector one night and had these symptoms.
Any advice you could give us would be appreciated. |

My brother found this projector when he was cleaning out his studio. He knew I wanted a projector for a home entertaiment system so he gave it to me. It has no owners manual and the picture is upside down. Since it cost me nothing I'm not worried about all the tech stuff like lumes, contrast, etc... I would just like to have the picture rightside up and maybe the manual as well. Can anyone help me. |
