I am going to be purchasing a Espon 5010 soon. In the room it will be in, i will not be able to do a ceiling mount. So i am looking to do a wall mount. I am wondering if anyone knows of a wall mount kit that will work for this projector. Doing one myself is not really an option, has i am not that good at building things...lol.

The answer was 8".
I set it all up and it looks AMAZING. I'm not even going to paint the wall.
I took it for a test spin and watched IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE from The Last Waltz.
7' wide x over 3' tall screen. Excellent sound system my jaw was on the floor.
One day while my wife's out Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same with the system on full tilt.

I just got my box. I'm psyched. As I read the manual it says that there should be plenty of room for ventilation on the back and underneath.
This will be on a table so I'm not worried about the bottom. But, how far away from a wall should the back be?
I saw a photo of a guy who has his mounted on the ceiling, and it doesn't look like there's 2" between the back of the projector and the wall.
Also, I use grounded extension cords with breakers (that you use for computers) can I plug the projector into one of those?
I'm actually much better with the more difficult stuff. It's these little easy things that have me scratching my head.

Newbie question, I have the Epson 5010 projector mounted at a 15'5" throw from a Da-Snap CV 2.35 AR 148" diagonal screen. Will the Epson native 16:9 AR allow me to fill the screen when playing 2.35:1 movies?? Thanks in advance.

I really need advice from Epson owners of the 5010 regarding 32dBs of fan noise when running.
I stopped by a Best Buy to test their 5010. I sat 3 feet under the Epson on normal mode, PJ was 14 feet from a 106" screen, the room had soft light AND I had all sound off. The room was silent.
The PQ was great but I sure could hear the fan. When I turned up the audio, the noise was gone. If I were to watch a movie that had some silence for drama, such as "Kings Speach", the fan would be noticeable and distracting.
I did a test and turned the Epson from normal mode to ECO and the dBs dropped from 32 to 22 and there wasn't any fan noise that was noticeable BUT the brightness on the screen dropped slightly, not that much to turn me off.
The set up that I was viewing the Epson in would be virtually the same as I will be installing.
Now my question:
If you had a small screen (100"), PJ was 14 feet from screen, PJ was always running in ECO mode with a slight drop in lumens on the screen, do you think you might be missing something or not? Would you be happy with such a scenario?
Yes, I know I could purchase a quiet PJ such as a Sony but I need to know about the Epson only at this time.
I thank you for any help that you might have in this area.
