My projector is showing horizontal lines. I called a Epson service department and they told me not worth fixing. Would cost close to what the projector is worth.
So if there's a way to fix it on my own I would appreciate the info otherwise what would be a good choice for a home projector that will last me. One that I don't have to worry about heat affecting the board as my current one did.

Looking to upgrade maybe to the 3-4k price range. Would love to have more vivid colors while maintaining the brightness as it is not a dedicated room but I use it mostly at night.
Thank you so much for your suggestions I am in the market for either new or refurb in this price range

I am going to be purchasing a Espon 5010 soon. In the room it will be in, i will not be able to do a ceiling mount. So i am looking to do a wall mount. I am wondering if anyone knows of a wall mount kit that will work for this projector. Doing one myself is not really an option, has i am not that good at building things...lol.

The answer was 8".
I set it all up and it looks AMAZING. I'm not even going to paint the wall.
I took it for a test spin and watched IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE from The Last Waltz.
7' wide x over 3' tall screen. Excellent sound system my jaw was on the floor.
One day while my wife's out Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same with the system on full tilt.

I just got my box. I'm psyched. As I read the manual it says that there should be plenty of room for ventilation on the back and underneath.
This will be on a table so I'm not worried about the bottom. But, how far away from a wall should the back be?
I saw a photo of a guy who has his mounted on the ceiling, and it doesn't look like there's 2" between the back of the projector and the wall.
Also, I use grounded extension cords with breakers (that you use for computers) can I plug the projector into one of those?
I'm actually much better with the more difficult stuff. It's these little easy things that have me scratching my head.
