Hi,
I have a client who is experiencing severe pincushion distortion but only on the bottom horizontal (the two corners are around 4 pixels lower than the center of the bottom horizontal). This effect is evident against the screen and wall so I do not think that it is the screen.
Setup:
NEC NP510W ceiling front.
100" 16:9 Electric tab tensioned screen.
I have come into this ordeal at the 9th hour so do not know the full history but essentially, the client was sold native WXGA machines and 16:9 screens for a board room setup.
The client has tested several different makes and models of WXGA entry level machines but all display the same problem (although I do not know which models were tested). I was with them yesterday and tested three models, NEC NP3250W, Epson EB-1730W and Epson (native 4:3). All three displayed the same problem although it was less evident with the NP3250W and Epson with native 4:3.
Keystoning does not solve the problem.
The tests were conducted with their notebook at several resolutions of 1280x800, 1280x768 and 1024x768 without any change.
I am going to test a native 4:3 Acer P1266 with my notebook, at their premises to see if I get the same problem but thought I would ask here to see if anyone has encountered this and found a solution.
I am convinced that it is not the projector's or the lenses. I suspect noise or insufficient noise insulation in the building to be the problem. Am I on the right track? |
