Topic:   Projector
None, since the light SHOULD be off anyway.
I agree with you on that. The light should be off when the projector is running. My point is the impact of the heat on the components when the light is on and when the projector is not running.

What kind of impact does it have on a projector when the projector is located very close to a recessed light? My main worry is the impact of the heat that is generated from the light. Your input is very much appretiated. Thanks, Srini

Topic:   Switch Box

Now that I have a projector, I need to attach some peripherals (ie Wii & BlueRay). Can anyone recommend a good switch box? Are there any specs. I should consider when searching? I need something with RCA and HDMI inputs with at least one HDMI out. Ideally, I would like a VGA and USB input with an addtional HDMI or two also. A remote would be a bonus too. Thanks, Wade

Topic:   Lens shift vs. ceiling mount extension

Hello folks, Looking for a bit of help related to this topic, so I"m posing questions here and recycling forum electrons instead of staring a new thread. Hope that's OK. I'm about to mount an Optoma HD20 to my basement's 8' ceiling, about 150" away from the screen. I expect the image size to wind up being Diagonal: 115", Width: 100" and Height: 56.3". As per the calculations from the Optoma website, the image will start 9" below the (inverted) lens. This would mean that if I have a 7" tall mount, my image will be 16" from the ceiling. However, I want the image to be only 5" below the ceiling. I would understand this to mean that the shorter the mount, the better off I would be. The questions are, Am I better off using any image shift capabilities that the Optoma HD20 has to move the image up the wall than to use the tilt capabilities of the mount itself? Is there a larger amount of image distortion associated with either method? I am not entirely certain if the HD20 has image/lens shift capability to fix this at any rate. Thanks much.
