I just got a new Vivitek H1080FD projector, and I'm trying to set it up initially. my strange first initial experience is: if I try to plug in an HDMI (computer) source, the image I see on the projection is clearly clipped - the top and the bottom of the screen are missing.
specifically, I tried with the following setups:
nVidia GeForce 8300 (motherboard integrated) video card. results:
- when connecting through the normal VGA cable, 1920x1080 pixels are shown fully
- when connecting via the HDMI connector of the video card, the top, bottom, left and right sides of the image are heavily clipped
I also try my laptop, an ATI Mobility Radeon 5830 HD, which comes with an HDMI connector. when I plug in via this one, the left and right sides are not clipped, but the top and bottom still are - although to a much much smaller extent (a couple of 10 pixels both at the top and at the bottom)
what could be wrong here? naturally, my preference would be to use HDMI connections & calbes, not VGA cables... |

Hey all,
I'm a total newcomer to projectors. For christmas I got a Vivitek H1080FD and I love it, the image is crisp, I can see it just fine with the lights on. Couldn't be happier with it. I have a ton of 1080 content and am happy to have such a solid outlet for it.
However, I can see what I think is the "rainbow effect" Even if I don't look from side to side I can see it in fast motion. It is too much of a problem to ignore.
What can I do? I don't want to drop the projector since $1000 dollars is exactly my budget (I have amazon prime, so I can ship for under that).
Thanks in advance. |
