AV_Integrated - I just wanted to follow up and say I went with the Optoma TX783 and mounted it straight back to the ceiling about 38 feet away. It was much more work but well worth it. We use the windows format to get it to fit on the screen properly.
It looks amazing! The projector puts out a beautiful image and is nice and bright.
Also, I went with AGI who did come in under their competitor which kept me in budget.

After reading most everything on this forum, I think the Optoma TX783 would be a good replacement for our church. The repair facility in Los Angles said it would be too expensive to repair our old projector. I would appreciate if anyone could give me some advice about this. Looks like the cost is going to be around $2300 and I have received permission to press on. I just hate to spend that amount and then find out I could/should have done better. Our mechanized screen is 10' x 7'11". Our ceiling mount and cables are 23' from the screen. Our old projector was rated at 740 lumens while the Optoma is 5000.
