I called Sanyo and talked to thier service dept. They had me turn my focus all the way in check for spots then focus all the way out. I was told if you see spots while focused all the way in and they disapear all the way out it is likely there is significant dust build up on the panels which can be cleaned and will solve the problem. I am going to try that... the polorizer sounds like alot of $$$$.

Hi, I'm new to projectors, so please bear with me. :) I just purchased a Sanyo PLV-1080HD, and hooked it up to my laptop, throwing the display on a basements wall. So far so good! Unfortunately, the righthand 1/4 of the screen was missing on the display thrown by the projector. I tried many different things: * cycling through the function key on the laptop that cycles between laptop screen, external display (proj) only, or both * changed to many different resolutions * used the nvidia control panel to shift the image over a bit * used the image adjustment control on the projector to move it over a bit (this helped somewhat, but still about 1/5 or 1/6 of the screen would always be missing no matter what I did). I would strongly imagine this is a newbie problem and that there is an easy answer. But, I didn't see a FAQ at the top of the projector forum, nor did I see a forum that looked like a more appropriate place to post the question..... so here I am. Please be gentle. :) Thanks for any help you can provide.
