Topic:   Can't find replacement for air filter for Panasonic PT-AE3000. Substitutes?

I recently bought a used projector. It seems to work fine, but the seller was clearly a smoker, because when I took the filter out to inspect it was heavily soiled and smelled like an old bar. I have searched, and it looks like the only way to get a new one is buy a new bulb, which costs over $250. My question is whether or not I can buy just the filter paper (sponge?), and if so where to look. Thanks!

Topic:   Panasonic PT-AE3000U - Flicker issue

I bought a home with a theater with this projector installed. The bulb has about 1600 hours on it. I've noticed a slight flicker, that only happens on occasion. I switched the lamp mode from eco to normal. I've tried different HDMI cables, etc. The problem persists. Panasonic does not think it is the bulb. I've read on other forums there can be an arc issue on eco mode which is why I switched to normal. Anyone have this projector with similar issues. I'm going to try and use another input on the projector vs. the HDMI to make sure it isn't that. I'm hesitant to spend $300 on a new bulb if the bulb isn't the issue. When it doesn't flicker the picture quality is as good as it's been since we bought the house.

Topic:   To upgrade or to not

Currently have a Panasonic AE3000U that I've had for about 4-5 years and I've been nothing but happy with it. Now I find myself wondering if it's time to upgrade. Currently I have decent light control and I'm looking at 100 inch screen from 11 feet away. I do need the lens shift capabilities this projector has because sometimes it gets moved into another room for big events. Also, I don't care for 3D. Anyway, my budget is $1500-$2500(if I can sell this projector). I'm really trying to stay in the lower end of this budget but if there isn't gonna be that much of difference in picture quality then what's the point. What do you guys think? Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Topic:   Panasonic PT AE3000 interaction with PS3

Hi Guys I have a Panasonic PT-AE3000 home projector. Had it for approx 2 years absolutely no complaints, great unit. Recently I hooked up a PS3 via home receiver to my configuration and when a game is loading the projector after approx 30 secs the picture from the projector goes very dark, almost like to is in some sort of sleep mode. I can still see the screen but it is very light, once the game has finished loaded I have to choose something on the game menu before it seems to come back to life. It is almost sensing no activity on the screen. Any idea what may be causing this? Normal TV watching no issues. Appreciate any feedback.
Topic:   Do I need to replace my Sony receiver for 9.1???

I've been installing my own speaker system in a dedicated home theater room approximately 14' x 22' x 10'. I have two floor standing speakers, a center channel, sub, two wall mounted, and four ceiling mounted units (all from Aperion). I wanted to set this up as a 9.1 system. My receiver is a Sony STR-DA5400ES. It doesn't say in the manual that supports Pro Logic IIz as a format. Will 9.1 work with my receiver? Buying a new one isn't an option for me. If not should I just double my L/R front channels between the ceiling mounted and floor standing speakers? Much thanks for your help!
