I've been installing my own speaker system in a dedicated home theater room approximately 14' x 22' x 10'. I have two floor standing speakers, a center channel, sub, two wall mounted, and four ceiling mounted units (all from Aperion).
I wanted to set this up as a 9.1 system. My receiver is a Sony STR-DA5400ES. It doesn't say in the manual that supports Pro Logic IIz as a format.
Will 9.1 work with my receiver? Buying a new one isn't an option for me. If not should I just double my L/R front channels between the ceiling mounted and floor standing speakers?
Much thanks for your help! |

I have about 100 hours on my projector and was switching between "Normal" and "Eco" lamp modes and did not notice any discernable change in light output on the screen. My NEC LT-260 has a very noticeable decrease in output when switched to Eco mode. Is there something wrong or is the change that subtle on the 3000? |

Newbie Needs help!
I have just installed a fixed screen (Tribal 106" diag) and have purchased a Panasonic 3000 projector. There are both going to be in a dedicated theater room with minimal to no ambient light and dark brown walls and ceiling.
I used your calculator to determine the best throw distance (13'10").
Two questions:
1. The calculator said that this was the right distance at 1.51 Zoom. Does this mean I will have to zoom in to make the image larger? Will I loose image quality by doing so?
2. A friend of mine told me he thought my screen was a 1.0 gain screen and that this would not be bright enough. Is he right? The room like I said is painted dark and has minimal ambient light. Buying another screen is sadly no longer an option. If it's not bright enough should I move the projector a little closer?
Much thanks! |

Actually, I'm curious about the newest projector from Panasonic, the pt-ae4000u. Anybody know anything about this new model and its proposed release date/price? |

My request is for owner, user, or tester of the Panasonic PT-AE3000 projector. I am planning to buy one of these PJ in replacement of my old and trusty unit. So I check it out in a store demonstration room. I read so much good thing about that unit that my first impression was not as good it should have been. Every thing was as expected except for the image color rendition. As most of LCD product, that PJ have a tendency to reproduce some gray scale with a greenish tin. This result as shadow zone in scene looking a bit green, close up of a guy face, reflect green in the beard area, or yellow beach sand look a bit green. I did not have the chance to play with the unit much, so my question to you experts; is it possible to correct that abominable greenish effect? |
