I could use some advice about buying a projector. I move to different countries quite frequently because of work, so I'm always limited in what kind of valuables I can own by whether or not they fit in a suitcase. My wife and I enjoy watching movies, and for the last 3 years, we've only ever watched movies on our laptops. It's time to change all that.
What I'm especially looking for is a home-theater quality projector that I can marry to my laptop, which has a 1280x800 resolution. It's primarily for movies, but I would like to be able to show a quality computer screen on it as well, mostly for photos and home movies. I'm not exclusive to the following projectors, but this is what I've boiled my choices down to:
Sanyo PLV-Z60
Optoma HD 65
Epson Powerlite HC 700
Panasonic PT-AX200U
Right now, the Epson beats the panasonic becase of the warranty, and it just barely edges out the Sanyo and the Optoma because the native resolution matches my computer.
One thing I especially care about is reliability, because it's not exactly convenient for me to send the projector in for repairs when I'm living in the Congo. That's why the warranty is important to me, because I will need time if I need to send it in.
Please give opinions on the above projectors, or suggest something new for me to consider. Thank you for the input. |
